The Madrid Film Festival – Platform for New Filmmakers has been committed to independent cinema in Spain for the past 22 years. With successive cutbacks in culture, they had a very difficult time organizing, managing and producing it this time around. So much so, that after all these years it appeared the festival was in danger of extinction. With this concept in mind, we developed three graphic images which correspond to the three pillars of cinema that will disappear if things continue this way: the independent film scene in general (Independens Cinema Festus), a worker in the industry (Cinema Currentis) and the exhibition rooms (Potens Exhibitus). In an effort to call attention to this problem, we adapted all of these images to the different media used in promoting the festival, such as posters, fliers, programs, opening credits, and film stills. With no alternatives to the already established commercial film scene, production and independent thought cease to exist.

Thanks to the collaboration by Fauna y Acción, we were able to put together this small teaser with two little magic words: zero cost… because when you want something bad enough, that desire overshadows all obstacles and you manage to keep the species alive.
